US Figure Skating

Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio was hired by US Figure Skating to create three chalkboard murals for their 2014 Skate America event at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. The largest wall featured mid 20th century champion skater Dick Button alongside the 2014 ice dance champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White. It also included several quotes by members of the Friends of Figure Skaters as well as the organization’s logo, “From past to present, we are all friends”. The second wall portrayed illustrations of the 2014 bronze medalist US Olympic team. The last wall was designed as a space for “Friends of Figure Skaters” to leave messages to the team members.

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
