In the afterglow of the Cubs 2016 World Series win, fans celebrated by chalking Wrigley’s famous bricks, specifically the memorial walk along Waveland Ave.
Nancy, inspired by the win and Coach Steve Madden’s inspirational quote “Try Not To Suck,” decided this was the Studio’s opportunity to celebrate with the rest of Chicago. Along with Studio Artists, Emma Moss and Natalie Michals, the team headed down to Wrigley to leave their mark. When they arrived the only space left on the wall was 12 feet off the ground so they precariously balanced on ladders. In the end the work was roughly 15 feet long!
Waveland Ave was bustling with dozens of celebrating fans, and many stopped to take their picture as Nancy and the artists worked. The pictures certainly didn’t end as the wall popped up all over the media. Numerous fans posted their pictures in their personal Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts. The Chicago Tribune and Bleacher Nation both featured images of the studio’s work for articles surrounding the Cubs. We very well might be biased, but the studio’s #WEDIDNOTSUCK just might have been one of the most popular kodak-able spots in Wrigleyville after the win! Check out the hashtag in social media and see how everyone else celebrated!
