Hometown Coffee & Juice Co., located in Glencoe, “serve[s] a curated menu of specialty coffees and handcrafted smoothies alongside nourishing, fresh fare. When Hometown opened in 2018, they reached out to Pochis Bank Art Studio to create a few hand-lettered chalkboard for their reimagined space. The first board is a massive, roughly 10’ x 4’ chalkboard menu with information about their coffee drinks, juices, and smoothies, as well as their sandwiches and toasts. The hand-lettering was executed by studio artists in a simple font in chalk.
The studio also illustrated a smaller “know your coffee” board. This chalkboard illustrates the different ratios of espresso, milk, and other ingredients in your favorite coffee drinks. Since the board was installed following renovations, studio artist Emma Moss has returned to update different items on the menu.
