A Chalkboard for New Year’s Eve

The holidays are upon us! Nancy Pochis Bank Art Studio spent yesterday afternoon creating this large scale chalkboard announcement for Southport & Irving Restaurant’s New Year’s Eve celebration. This vintage-style board is on display in the restaurant’s entrance. Stop in to check out the art as well as to learn more about S&I’s NYE event! Thanks to Studio Assistant Liz Ahlem for her work on the design, and to occasional Studio Artist Elizabeth Graff for her work alongside Nancy yesterday.

Chicago Public Artwork Goes International

In the summer of 2007, “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” was launched in Chicago. Nancy Pochis Bank was among an international group of artists selected by the jury to design and create a globe to be displayed in the lakefront exhibit.

Since the start of the "Cool Globes" project, Nancy has created four 5’ globes that have been exhibited across the United States and internationally.

“Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” is a non-profit organization established to raise awareness of climate change and inspire individuals and community leaders to embrace solutions. The public art exhibit features larger-than-life globes, each designed to depict a solution to global warming.
